Ines Karčáková (CZ/SK)
3. 7. 2018 – 28. 8. 2018
Ines Karčáková began to study art at the New Media Studio, Faculty of Fine Arts, Technical University of Košice. She later moved to Prague, where she has studied at the Department of Photography, Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts, in the studio of Hynek Alt. Her work reflects her interest in topics such as light, time, space, and the disturbance of their mutual interrelationships. Recently, she has primarily focused on research in astrophotography, among others on cosmic microwave background, which was at the very beginning of the universe, or on the boundary between the rough telescope record and the aestheticized photography serving to popularize astronomy. During her residency, she will dedicate herself particularly to this type of photography, and especially to researching its mathematical–physical background.
