Martin Chramosta (AT/CH)

Martin Chramosta graduated from the Institut Kunst at HGK Basel (CH). Studies at „freie Klasse“ of the Academy of fine Arts led him to Vienna where he also taught in the Department of Sculpture and Space at the University of applied Arts. In his work he examines historical and vernacular forms for their archetypal and contemporary value. From them, he models assemblages that crystallize in various media such as sculpture, drawing or installation.

Martin Chramosta participated in several residency programs at institutions such as the Darling Foundry in Montréal, the Cité des Arts in Paris or Art Quarter Budapest. He was a fellow at the Istituto Svizzero in Rome in 2022. In 2023 he attended the residency program at Petrohradska Kolektiv in Prague. His works are in public and private collections and have been shown in places like Künstlerhaus Bregenz, Ve.Sch Vienna, CAN Neuchâtel, Horizont Galéria Budapest, Kunsthalle Basel, Haus Wien, Vitrine Gallery Basel, Rinomina Paris or the Swiss Art Awards.
