Noemi Purkrábková (CZ)

Noemi Purkrábková is a Prague-based media theoretician, art writer, curator, DJ and co-founder of BCAAsystem, an amorphous audio-visual collective exploring future territories somewhere between music and visual arts. Together they are involved in a variety of projects, from audiovisual performances to video work, writing, gallery exhibitions and music label activities. She is an editor of Art Antiques magazine and a contributor to a number of others, as well as a PhD candidate at the Film Studies departement of the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague, where she researches into the productive poetics of digital fiction and ontogenetic qualities of contemporary generative images both outside and within contemporary moving image art. Currently, she also works as a curator of Holešovická Šachta gallery and curates independently – both alone and as a part of the experimental curatorial platform Proto Gallery Systems. Additionally, she enjoys writing (and sometimes lending voice to) more artistic or poetic texts for video voiceovers and narrative audio works.
