Yosi Negrín (ES)
15. 6. 2024 – 15. 8. 2024
Yosi's work flows between scenarios of possibility and archi-fictional simulations. Through site-specific installations, sculptures, and digital imagery, he proposes new ensembles of seemingly unconnected realities. This polymorphic practice emerges from the surrounding materialities of our time, rendering visible the hidden energies and non-human powers that twist around us. All the stories focus on what tends to be unproductive, discarded, or inert, positioning themselves from the vitality of matter as a reengagement with the environment. The artworks explore material culture and design as powerful tools and sensory experiences, addressing notions such as the organic, the residual, the unstable, and the fragile.
His work has been featured in various international exhibitions, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, the Conde Duque Cultural Center in Madrid, The Clemente Center in New York, the Pal Project Gallery in Paris, SÓNAR and the MIRA Festival in Barcelona, Maus Hábitos in Porto, TEA in Tenerife, as well as in several galleries and spaces in Spain and abroad.
Negrín is also a co-founder of the collective project Casa Antillón in Madrid, where he continues to explore new forms of expression and artistic collaboration.
