Our present time is marked both by an increased interest in the body and everything related to it, and something like the gradual dematerialization of our existence and its gradual transfer to non-physical virtual worlds. The relationship of man to his body changed as the time went by. In the history of art the body was an object of adoration or repudiation. We live in a time of a narcissistic approach to the body – but we seldom look into the mirrors of our own physicality, rather we look up to the perfect bodies presented to us in hyper-realistic images. The purpose of caring for one’s body is a representative one, the body becomes an instrument of power. But are we able to really perceive our body? Does our body belong only to us? Do we love our body?
