House of the Lords of Kunštát
Curator
Daniela Dostálková, Linda Dostálková
An exhibition addressing the phenomenon of quality and its perception in the context of contemporary art.
The title Cold-Pressed, Low-Heat refers to the specific quality of coconut oil as a superproduct. The unique attributes of this lipid rank it among the products with a broad variety of internal and external uses. Coconut oil is a synonym for healthy lifestyle. It is virgin, organic, vegan and kosher.
The authors of the exhibition concept define the final exhibition form in close cooperation with invited artists Milan Houser (CZ), Stéphanie Lagarde (FR), Nora Turato (NL/HR), Kateřina Šimáčková (CZ) and Daniel Walwin (NL/UK). Their position in the project is that of co-authors and commissioners at the same time, aiming to achieve a complex message delivered to the audiences by means of up-to-date exhibition media. Furthermore, the exhibition reflects upon contemporary tendencies of artistic practice heading to broaden the limits of its own impact.
Daniela and Linda Dostálková are involved with implying formal methods from related social areas to different contexts. They mainly serve gallery institutions, artists and organisations, stimulating the creation of new concepts of autonomous social hybrid forms.
The exhibition is organised with the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Prague.
