The exhibition will introduce, in a retrospective selection, the work of one of the doyens of Brno photography. An accent will be placed on the first decades of the second half of the 20th century when Miloš Budík devoted himself to the theme of cityscape motifs, approached in the spirit of the then highly in vogue poetry of the everyday. He often worked with contrejour, diagonally arranged composition and top view. Alongside unpretentious urban motifs he made a number of snapshots illustrating the life of Brno dwellers in various cultural and working environments. As one of a few he successfully participated at that time in many international shows of contemporary photography. He was a founding member of the VOX group and his close ties with Brno cultural life resulted in collaboration with cultural periodicals. Apart from documentary photographs he also published there non-commissioned work as accompaniment to literary works, some of the themes remained his long-term concern.
